Angel Luis Torruellas

December, 2012

Known as the Frank Sinatra of his genre, Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena singer Angel Luis Torruellas’ first professional performance was at the age of nine. Now in his mid-seventies, he has appeared on more than 125 professional recordings and taken the stage internationally, including the prestigious Carnegie Hall and our own Latino Arts Auditorium in 2003. Torruellas performed with an arsenal of the region’s most talented musicians, including cuatro virtuoso El Mostro.
