Born and raised in Venezuela, Vivian Vivas began her artistic career studying architecture at the Central University of Venezuela, where she also developed her passion for photography. Visiones Tomando Vuelo [Visions Taking Flight] was a study of culture, nature, and wildlife, much of which was the observation and photographing of birds at the Horicon Marsh Wildlife Refuge.
